OK so I installed version 14.0 and it now seems fine. Annoying that I’m paying for the latest one but can’t use it.

November 29, 2019 at 7:54 am in reply to: Colour change inside and outside Resolve pre-gradeThanks,
I’ll try the rendering out of Resolve back into final Cut as a test but I did discover through a colleague who’s in the colour grading game that the OSX engine that processes images from Final Cut and Quick Time (and Finder preview for that matter) are not processing it ‘properly’ and that the Resolve image is to be trusted as a closer rendition of what is contained in the actual file, even more so if shot with a BMD camera. The gamma is also a few ‘stops’ up in Resolve than it is for OSX rendering and could be what is giving it a cast, as a reduction in brightness causes more saturation in the image. This job isn’t really colour critical and I’m aware these issues have always plagued Mac systems I suppose I thought after decades it would be addressed and sorted by now. I understand there’s also a thing in Resolve which corrects for Mac colour rendering and the gamma difference but then it only makes it the same on just my mac and there’s even differences between them as with all electronic tools. This could already be switched on since it’s obviously a Mac app and hence the slightly darker, saturated image. I also understand you can insert flags into the headers of these clips so they are rendered correctly across the different apps but I’ve no idea how to edit them atm. Apparently these guys make an app: https://www.digitalrebellion.com/promedia/

I found a solution – I binned Premiere because it’s just too unreliable for critical work and the whole editing experience is frustrating.

Think you may have missed the question here…
How to do it ‘without’ going into the motion tab and how to constrain the wireframe mode.
You can double click in the canvas to get wireframe up but still no constraining which is what I was asking about.

Not in the few days prior to this work being carried out. We have since done the usual housekeeping tasks and it’s been behaving. Doesn’t help this particular individual though.

May 21, 2014 at 10:30 am in reply to: Is it possible to open a bin from version MC v6.5 in v7?I think it’s the version issue. It’s not 6.5.4 and the bin comes in as a named window but it’s empty. Will check out the updates… Thanks.

April 10, 2014 at 6:29 pm in reply to: Big differences between Macs on a single AE projectYes everything is identical except as I mentioned the difference in iMac models.
I’ve been messing with this for a few days now and there is a really distinct difference and I can’t get to the bottom of it. I’ve ended up rendering the project from where the images look best on the newer iMac. I’ll post up some grabs here later so you can see the difference. (different graphics card of course too).

I would have said this should work in principal but the software raid controller on your old mac might come into play with it. Before binning the old Mac, I would just check but making sure OS versions are all the same might help since this is where the software controller will reside. I’m pretty sure there is no hardware aspect to the striping if you used disk utility to form it.

I see this was from a few years ago but did you ever get an answer to this? I can’t believe this basic feature isn’t simply a shift click and drag like other Adobe/NLE apps!
Where’s all this seamless integration? 🙂

Thanks, my solution was just to revisit the original clips and rebuild the edit in AE. I had hope to use this pro import app to be able to add 2 second handles to each clip for some rejigging once the shots were effected. It’s really piss poor and I’ve raised a ticket with Adobe. I think the fact that it’s 3rd party software will mean they wash their hands of it.
