When I direct the “Import XDCAM Disk” to the drive and the folder called “CLPR” (where all the video file/folders are located), XDCAM Explorer replies back with “Import XDCAM Disk process failed”.

As it stands now, it looks like I’ll have to spend the day opening each file and dragging out each MP4 file one at a time.

I do not have the camera or the SXS cards. Only the files on a HDD.

Just took a quick look at their website. You can have a transparent background? For $30 it could speed up my credit roll process 100%. I’ll be checking this out.

I do some shows with some very large casts and there is always a few changes/fixes we have to do. Seems most text credit type programs do make it easy to do some add-ins, changes or deletes.

Another question for Vegas is, why is this Credit Roll and Text Media “edit” windows so small. I’ve got 26″ monitor and get this tiny text interface.

Thanks to all. But it seems you say there are issues with the Credit Roll. Don’t use it at all because the scrolling text will jitter. I see that in my rendered test. This is unacceptable for professional video production of course. So the Vegas Credit Roll is a joke.

Using the basic Text Media seems to offer better playback. But text entry allows for only one column. My credit roll has 2 columns. Can I drop in copy list from Excel or even Word? Or do I have to do every manually? If that’s the case, Vegas has no professional credit roll options, unless you want to spend hours tweaking your text entries.

What other solution are you using for profession credit rolls? Keep in mind these are just plan white text over black or transparent backgrounds.

Thanks again, Peter. I knew there must be a simple answer. AVI not QT for BFX RED in the 64bit world. And I do have RED installed as a Vegas FX option. Learning something new everyday.

Thanks, Peter. I opted out of getting RED for Vegas as I think you get more with the standalone version… and it works with other NLEs.

The tutorial you mentioned is the one I used. Being a Boris virgin, I have lots to learn. That’s why good tutorials are what I need for the tasks I need Boris RED to create.

So I’ve got the length/timing corrected but I still can’t render. The error file just says, “Render Error: Quicktime export failed”.

Why can’t I get Boris to render? What am I doing wrong?

As I revisit this today (and giving my computer the night off) I brought the rendered M2T and M2TS project into the Vegas timeline. Both were identical. WIN 7 file info is wrong as both files are actually 10:37 in length and not the M2TS at 10:57 as WIN 7 says it is.

I just think computers do just get tired of working hard and get lazy and screw with your head.

Nope. Follow the same procedure.No rhyme or reason that I can see. I’ve tried it several times and to different drives. Same results. This project is 10:37 in length. The M2TS file comes out at 10:57. So the video is slowing down and adding 20 seconds. Of course the audio has completed at the 10:37 mark.

Yes, I was just directed to where that was and downloaded it. I do get one single Boris item in Video FX and Transitions tabs in Vegas. Applied, those take me into the Boris RED interface. Now I’ve got to find some training and tuts on how RED works. I may be knocking on John Rofrano’s door for some of that.
