John, do you have a good source to purchase the PNY Quadro 4000?

It turned out to be the NVIDIA G470GTX card. Got it replaced and all is well once again.

So, the big problem is we can’t even use NewBlue Pro Titler yet since Vegas Pro 11 is not ready for primetime use. This is a real shame. How long do we have to wait for VP11 to be good to go?

BTW, there is nothing in the Events Logs other than the system did not shut down proper since I forced a reboot. Also, on the last 3 reboots I lost video signal right after the Supermicro logo and one of two other screens flew by. But by watching the RAID LEDs and windows sounds, it appeared to have booted up. But without video signal.

Looking more like the NIVIDIA 4700GTX????

I can swap and test with a GeForce 8800GT card if Vegas Pro 10e can run on it. Yes? No? What card is suggested if I need to replace the 4700GTX?

    Thanks,

January 2, 2012 at 7:14 pm in reply to: Can Sony Vegas Pro Run Sucessfully On A Mac???

Great info Dave. So now my question is back to the simple “is there really any need to move to Mac to run Vegas?” To get the max performance out of Vegas, is it wise, then, to stay with a WIN 7 64bit machine?

My current editing PC (custom built) has an aging Supermicro MOBO. I have dual Xeon E5440 2.83Ghz CPUs, 16GB RAM, running WIN 7 64bit with 4 internal HDDs and 2 external 6TB RAID-5 boxes. Graphics card is a NVIDIA 470GTX. I need to retire my aging Video Toaster card (only using NewTek’s SpeedEDIT for Photo Montages) and add a BM card to I/O HD to studio monitor for Vegas playback and I/O analog stuff. The question was either update the current PC or jump to Mac. Sounds like I should stay with PC.

    Suggestions, comments? Thanks.

Sounds more trouble than it’s worth.

How do you like your EX1?

Mike, it appears that conversion program does not work in WIN 7 64bit.

Vegas Pro 11 also has a problem with clips using Sony Levels. I expect we’ll see 11a real soon. Or wait for 11b.

Is there any problem in importing MP4 files into Vegas Pro 10e’s timeline for editing? Should I convert these to MXF?

    Thanks.

Well, I’m trying a search (.mp4), copy & paste into a new folder. Seems to be working so far. Basic computer 101.
