Vegas 10d Trouble Rendering
This is the first time I have experienced this problem. I render my projects out to M2T and M2TS for the web. Today, my M2TS renders are coming out where the video image starts to slow, about 1/3 of the way through, and becomes out-of-sync with the audio. And the running length is several seconds longer than the M2T file. The M2T files are fine.
I’ve had no problem with M2TS until now. I’m saving it as Sony AVC (*.mp4, *.m2ts, avc), AVCHD 1920×1080-60i. Original clips are M2T shot with a Sony Z7 on CF card.
Tips, solutions?

That’s pretty much my workflow. HDV from the cameras to m2ts (AVCHD) for the web. Never seen this problem.
Have you done something different from earlier encodes?

Nope. Follow the same procedure.No rhyme or reason that I can see. I’ve tried it several times and to different drives. Same results. This project is 10:37 in length. The M2TS file comes out at 10:57. So the video is slowing down and adding 20 seconds. Of course the audio has completed at the 10:37 mark.

That’s really strange. If you can provide a file less than 2Gb for me to try encoding, I’ll see what happens here.
When I send a large file, I use Dropbox.
Dropbox is one of those handy inventions where the more you use it, the more you come up with reasons to use it. Dropbox is a cloud-based file sharing service that syncs file across all your computers. It works with files (video, graphics, text, anything) of any size, and it syncs automatically whenever a new file appears or a change is detected. Best of all, it’s free for a 2GB account.
Just put the file into the public folder in your “My Dropbox”, right click on the file, select “dropbox” and “Copy Public Link”. This puts the public link of the file into your clipboard. Send me this link and I’ll get the file.

As I revisit this today (and giving my computer the night off) I brought the rendered M2T and M2TS project into the Vegas timeline. Both were identical. WIN 7 file info is wrong as both files are actually 10:37 in length and not the M2TS at 10:57 as WIN 7 says it is.
I just think computers do just get tired of working hard and get lazy and screw with your head.
