OK. I’m using “DVDA NTSC Widescreen video stream” to render my MPG-2 and it crashed EVERY TIME after about 60 seconds. I’ve tried to to several different drives. Same thing.

Reasons why it won’t render MPG-2s?

My program is 78 minutes long and my bitrates are set to 8664, 7880 and 3936 via my bit cal program. So why does option #4 not work???

Check it out when you get a chance. I have another project about ready to go into DVDA from v11. I’ll report if it is happening ALL the time.

One of the reasons for the I/O interface card is due to the retirement of my VideoToaster card and SX-8 break-out box. I still do analog tape transfers.

Why the upgrades? You tell me? I have an aging Supermicro X7DWA MOBO with those dual Xeon 2.83 (8 core) CPUs and 16GB RAM. It has 2 PCI-Exp 16 slots and 2 PCI-X 133/100 slots and 2 PCI 133 slots. It can handle up to 64GB DDR2 RAM. I need to upgrade my graphics card from the GTX450 to a Q4000 (can this MOBO handle this card?). I need to add an I/O card for analog I/O and, between the 2 cards, be able to output Vegas to HD external monitor (HDMI). I also need Firewire for HDV tape capture and about a total of 8 USB ports. This MOBO only supports USB 2.0. I also have my RAID interface card to support 2 external RAID-5 boxes.

So, do I really need a new MOBO or can this one still survive? My goal is stability, speed and HD output.

What does Sandy Bridge give me?

I will give that a try.

Now back to why my markers come into DVDA off from a few seconds to several minutes.

I believe that because I happened to get this GTX450 from MSI and it’s been replaced 3 times within the first year. Will not buy a card from them again. So, a Q4000 card is on my shopping list with my rebuild.

So my search for a new MOBO, analog I/O support and HD output for a super Vegas station goes on.

So are you saying my GTX450 card doesn’t quite make it with V11? Which brings me back to my computer upgrade question where I’d like to get a Q4000 in the process. So I’m still looking for suggestions to new MOBO, CPUs, memory and HD output to HD monitor… and analog I/O.

If I have to turn off the GPU, doesn’t that defeat one of the main features V11 offers? If V11 can’t handle slow-mo and reverse motion, why upgrade? I’m just asking, because if that is the case, V11 and my GPU card serve no benefits. Enlighten me.

I turned off the GPU and it came out cleaner. I have a GeForce GTX450 and would like a system rebuild review that may include a Q4000. I have a Supermicro MOBO that is probably at it’s limits. So I’m looking for suggestions for a computer rebuild to maximize Vegas’s power and include analog I/O with HD display output.

Old habits are hard to break. (10e vs 11)

Problem solved. Thanks all. Thanks Stephen for a detailed diagram.

But I still need to borrow John’s brain.
