I had this happen recently too and what worked for me was to render the timeline or the PSD and it disappeared. I don’t know why, I don’t like it but it worked.

there is a setting in your viewer where you can selecet the “open”function.
The top of your viewer window has three selection buttons, the left one is your picture size, the one on the right is you Alpha channel selector and the one in the middle is the “SYNC,OPEN, GANG” function. You want to select open.
Then it will show all fo the clips that are running and the one that is being laid down on the timeline is the one outlined in blue.
It’s a great function and helps us out a ton.
Good luck.
Hope that helps.

September 6, 2006 at 6:54 pm in reply to: Rendered timeline changes not reflected in timelineThanks but unfortunately I think it goes deeper than the preferences. I have three different machines that all have the same problem. I’m using G5 tower, an iMac 20″ intel, and a 17″ macbook pro. They all have the problem on different projects. I’m just surprised that I haven’t heard of more people having the same problem.
Thanks for your suggestions though.

I usually use Verbatim brand ink-jet printables and they have worked great for me.
I have recently switched to TDKs and have had a few issues with people not being able to play them in certain players. I would check to make sure all regions are selected as well in DVDSP other than that check with the DVDSP thread they may have more answers for you.Good luck.

I have been switching back and forth between viewing via firwire and via the computer. Your right it is a few frames and not a 1/2 second like I had thought but it’s enough to be frustrating. The problem is that it is changing my workflow. It’s not a big deal I would just like it to work the way it used to. It seems like every update changes the workflow in some way somethimes for the good. This one isn’t helping.
Thanks for the reply

Thanks Jerry I’ll give it a try. There’s always something to every upgrade isn’t there?
Thanks for your time.

I am not familiar with the Avid workflow but in FCP there is a feature called Media Manager that allows you to delet clips that aren’t used in your project and save the project with all the render files and project files into a new project and save it to any drives you would like. The Media Manager is located under the “File” heading in the tool bar, just below the Log and Capture. It is easy to use and extremely helpful in managing large projects. Hope this helps.
