So this is an interesting one. I’m using FCP 5.1.4 universal and am having issues with making changes on a rendered timeline. If I go back to a renedered timeline and shorten a section or change a text or something the timeline won’t reflect the change in in the rendered files. I have had to use the work around method of laying a color matte over the section I changed and then deleting it to get the rendered area to reflect the change in the timeline. Has anyone else had this problem and found a better solution? This is killing my workflow.

    Thanks for your time.

    HI

Try throwing away all your existing renders. sometimes FCP gets stuck and forgets to show the most recent render

after you throw them away, close and open fcp, then re render the stuff that needs it

if the problem still persisits, try throwing away your preferences, which is discussed quite frequently on this forum.

    hope this helps

Thanks but unfortunately I think it goes deeper than the preferences. I have three different machines that all have the same problem. I’m using G5 tower, an iMac 20″ intel, and a 17″ macbook pro. They all have the problem on different projects. I’m just surprised that I haven’t heard of more people having the same problem.

    Thanks for your suggestions though.
