This question comes up periodically, so I just tried a search and found this thread in the archives:
https://www.creativecow.net/forum/view_thread.php?threadid=538117&forumid=71&postid=107967838777651&archive=_2004|9|8One of the updates caused my really quiet fans to suddenly sound like a jet taking off, I tried the suggestion that Tony! gave and it worked for me, although I’ve had to reset the preference with each update since then. Something in the updater seems to reset it to a default that makes the fans really loud.
If you’ve already done this, then I have no other suggestions.

It looks like the price went up… I only paid $99 for my upgrade too. 6.0-6.5. Sometimes they have a cheaper price if it’s just the one jump, whereas Kurtis said he needed to upgrade from 5.5 to 6.5, which typically is the $199 price.

I think the upgrade is worth even the $199 price. We’ve had this discussion many times. You might do a search in the cow and read what everyone has said each time.

I’m using Safari 1.2.4 (v125.12) with 10.3.8 on my g5 and every thing seems fine.

Are you on windows?
I just realized that it wasn’t loading on my windows machine. I try to test it on both, but apparently forgot this time. I’ll ask Eric to take a look at the code on that page to see why it wouldn’t be loading or we may have to wait until Lee returns from Yosimite as he’s the one that codes that particular part of his tutorials.
