Help…..the production studio I work at uses AE 5.5. Obviously, we NEED to update to 6.5, but my boss is really stingy, so before I present him with reasons why we should upgrade, could any of you give me the top reasons I should argue? Thanks a bunch

The animation presets ar great, If you have an Avid or anyother AAF capable editor, you can export to AE via AAF and have the edit timeline appear in AE timeline. Imporoved intergration with Photoshop, encore etc. a PROPER text tool like photoshops. the list goes on. those would be worthit alone. great plugings include as well.

    1. Compatibility with other AE users – AE is not backward compatible.

    2. Incredible value. The Cycore plugins are worth 3 times the upgrade price on their own, let alone Color Finesse, Grain Removal etc etc.

    3. Increased productivity. Animation Presets allow you to store templates of commonly used animations including all keyframes, filters etc. Plus hundreds of text animators viewable in the Text Animation Gallery are included.

The humorously low price of $99 for the upgrade is the most obvious purchase choice anyone should ever make. Especially if they call themselves a business that uses AE as a tool. Color Finesse is normally several hundred dollars. Free with AE 6.5. Cycore Plug-ins. Free with AE 6.5 Animation Presets that save you hours and maybe days of keyframing time: included in 6.5. Scriptability. More professional inteface color (discreet dark grey look is possible) for being in front of clients. Solids will re-rasterize. Way improved caching: Huge time saver. Far better tracker (although still lacking true pro qualities). The list goes on and on for once again a joke of a price: $99.

I’m seeing the upgrade price for around $199. Where is it available for $99?

It looks like the price went up… I only paid $99 for my upgrade too. 6.0-6.5. Sometimes they have a cheaper price if it’s just the one jump, whereas Kurtis said he needed to upgrade from 5.5 to 6.5, which typically is the $199 price.

I think the upgrade is worth even the $199 price. We’ve had this discussion many times. You might do a search in the cow and read what everyone has said each time.

    Good luck.
