[Tony!] “VLC Player https://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14738 it bypasses the region codes. I wouldn’t change your code to watch a DVD, use VLC instead of Quicktime player and it should work.
“Thanks Tony! I downloaded the VLC Player– and it’s working great. You’re right, I really didn’t want to change my region code — not that I watch a lot of dvds on my computer, but you never know.

As Barend says, it isn’t happening in any clandestine manner as you appear to suggest. It is merely an enthusiastic user who likes Trapcode. We’ve known Peder a long time, since back in the days when he was coding the Cult FX plug-ins and he would never stoop to a tactic like this. We’ve seen companies do it — but Peder? Never.

The first thing that I would do is try rendering your file as numbered images (rather than a QT file) and see if it allows you to avoid the lock-up. (It often does help with things like this.) If it doesn’t help, then you will at least know which frame *exactly* is causing the problem and then you will be far ahead of the game in trying to discern what exactly is causing the problem.

You might check out a tutorial in our library from Graham Quince:
Using the Liquify Filter to Breathe Life into Still Photos
As I recall, Graham said he couldn’t see any value in it until he had a project that it seemed to be made for.
But as Steve said, a little more information on what you want to do would help.
