You capture anamorhic as regular SD video – and then use correct aspect ratio on monitor or software displaying the final image

I am sorry for wrong information

The first test’s I did with 720 50p was on JVC mpeg2 stream and used mpegsteramclip – and I could chance frame rates in there.
So what you can do is capture 50p bring that clip into FCP, retime it to 200% and uncheck the frame blending option.
Otherwise FCP brings in the 50p as 25p and you get slow mo effect

Also BMD products can deal with embeded TC – but only in Deck Controll aplication – suposedly some sort of limitation of FCP

Does sony F900 have HD-SDI out?
I have used sony 750 series and BMD deck controll can use SDI embeded TC
By today there is no soloution for FCP to capture embeded TC and to have the SR give out timecode on the fly, well – it might work but most likley it wont – (gut feeling)
So just use BMD deck controll and evrything will work (if the SDI has embeded Time Code)

I don’t know about this card but BMD multibridge extreme works with latest drivers and BMD deck controll
There just is no support in FCP for 50p timeline and there is no 25p 720 standard on SDI
So when captured just convert the quictime file to half lenght and you end up with 720 25p -> that you can upconvert to 1080 for easyer forkflow!

IF you use slot 3 then make sure you do NOT have slow PCI card in slot 2 or no card in there is even better – otherwise the card runs in SD mode only, you can vertify this by looking @

  • You can use photo jpeg what is full raster, aslo you could try sheer codec but it is about 2-4 larger than avid dnxhd but the quality is uncompressed @ about 1/2 bitrate of uncompressed

  • I don’t rember who makes the panels – but both are identical – there is calibration difference apple seems more subtle in crominance while dell seems better at details
as for thruthfulness you have to calibrate it anyaways just dell seems bit more saturated
