With shake there is on major problem no RT playback other than that it is natural that shake is much better @ grading baecause of the more extensive toolset better mates, tracking etc.

It just question of time, will DOP and director willing to see still images while grading and waiting for render

Also the program is 1.x @ moment so lots of headroom for improvements

    Maybe grading in motion2?

You could ask them, meybe they want an u-matic compy as well 😉
I have seen similliar problems here (Eastern Europe), sometimes people just don’t understand the 1000000 US hardware is worthless withoud quilified person to work on it (qualified means a person who knows what s/he is doing)

the resolution and bit depth are two different things: let say pal is 720×576 in rgb R, G and B channel must all be the same size (720×576) beacuse if youwould make on half resoultion it would look really off that is why in the old times YUV (colorspce was invented partly because reduced bandwith and partly because backward compatibilty with black and white standard Y) in this case Y consist of black and white image and two other channels make up the croma information so the croma can be 1/2 or even 1/4 of the orignal resolution (PAL DV 4:2:0 or mpeg2 compression), the bit depth resembles the different levels that can be stored in every channels (one channel is 2d array of pixels) one pixel (8 bit 256, 10 bit 1024)

hope this clears it up a bit – if not make it evene more complicated

  • All the SD cards are 32 bit and work fine in all computers that can handle the data
64 bit slot is double size

I have tested the card in P4 with 32 bit PCI slot and works like a charm
Also I have tested it in opteron box in 32 bit and 64 bit slot worked in both

64 bit slot is almost double lenght from 32 bit (like pci-X)

SO YOU DO NOT NEED 64 BIT SLOT
