    Ok, I see that happens when you put Audio Spectrum on Analog Lines, Side B…

    I don’t see an immediate solution. I guess you could put the audio through band pass (cutting off low and high frequencies) so that it stays level at the bottom and top.

    Not even sure if Proximity uses this effect. But somehow they have the frequency spectrum flat at each end.

  • To me it seems that the following should work

    sX = key1[0];
    key2 += [effect("Slider Control")(1),0,0]
    eX = key2[0] - key1[0];

    You may need to change the number of dimensions on the second line if the keyframe is not 3-dimensional.

    Nope.

    I usually go with a puppet-pin solution.

    If it is a non-filled shape with straight lines, you can use nulls and a bunch of beam effects to draw the lines.

    You don’t need polar coordinates (although if your start and end y-positions are equal, it should work perfectly), you can also make a circular mask, turn it to “none” and select the circular mask as the Path for the effect.

    Don’t put the mask on the same layer as Element. Create a new solid for it and pick that other layer as a custom mask from your Element layer.

    Element gets confused about layer bounds if you add masks directly on the same layer, so any masking should be done on a separate layer. For the same reason, if you actually wanted to mask something off on an element layer, it should be done with a track matte, not with a mask.

  • Either the containing composition is not scaled proportionally, in which case the easiest solution is to scale it proportionally, OR you have a non-square pixel aspect ratio, and need to turn on pixel aspect ratio preview (click the icon with rectangle and horizontal double arrow below the viewer).

  • Not through an expression, an expression needs to check all preceding frames to do something like this.

    Two options come to mind:

    1) Convert expressions to keyframes. Then you don’t have to calculate each frame every time you render.

    2) Use Trapcode Soundkeys to do this, it will bake the values into keyframes, and has an option to do cumulative.

  • It will work, you just need 100 sliders in order to control 100 odometers. You can have the sliders in the same comp, but make sure give them different names (they will automatically be renamed if you copy them: “slider 1”, “slider 2”, etc.)

  • You can separate the dimensions and apply a wiggle to the y position.

    wiggle(wiggles per second, amount)
