    Lower thirds.

You can create the pattern with two hexagonal shapes and a repeater, but animating each one separately is a whole different story. You’ll need a particle system such as Element 3D or Trapcode Form to do that.

There’s no keyboard shortcut for it.

It may be possible with scripting, but isn’t an easy task:

The main effect is a glow effect driven by audio-to-keyframes.

The text layers itself is visible and set to continuous rasterize and lighten mode, why?

To make the text in Element, you make a text layer as a different layer from the Element layer (which would be a solid with the Element effect on it), the text layer would be hidden and selected as a custom text layer in the Element Effect Controls.

December 11, 2015 at 11:01 am in reply to: How to remove excess data from PSD

A few things that will reduce Photoshop file size:

    – Save without backwards compatibility.

    – Select all and crop. This will get rid of most of the things outside the actual image area (smart objects being an exception).

    – If you still want to use “save as”, try flattening image before saving as.

Depending on the smart object content you have, rasterizing them may either increase or decrease the file size.

What is the problem with “save for web?” It produces a smaller file than direct “save as”. More importantly, there is an option “none” for metadata in that dialog.

Browsers don’t display that large an image.

But as long as you are able to upload the image, the end user can download it to their computer with right-click>save as…, and view it locally on their computer.

Thus, you can upload a smaller version of the same as a preview, and then link to the larger version with instructions to download it.

What Ivan said, plus you may need to release compound shapes first for some of the shapes to unite.

Occasionally I’ve had to separately select the individual pieces, cut them to the clipboard and paste in place one by one in order to release the compounds if they have been generated originally in some other program than Illustrator.

  • Alright, I discovered that the data returned by key(index) is an object with value, time and index properties.

The problem is that Key2 becomes Key1 the moment you come to it on the timeline, so somehow you’d need to take that into account.

Do you have more than two position keyframes on the layer, i.e. is the problem just with a single frame, or do you need to continue to a third keyframe beyond keyframe 2?

If you are only using two keyframes, you could pick the keyframes by their index number instead of nearest keyframe.

The simplest solution is to split the layer at that point and remove the parenting — or parent it to the bag if it needs to follow it.
