Hi there! Is there a script or a way to do a wiggle expression on some points of a path in a shape?
Lets say there is 30 points, and i want 5 of those to wiggle.
    Thanks!

    Nope.

    I usually go with a puppet-pin solution.

If it is a non-filled shape with straight lines, you can use nulls and a bunch of beam effects to draw the lines.

Thanks! I actually tried with puppet tool linked to nulls, but as 3D layer and camera the shape layer got broken. Pre-comp solved this issue. Didnt think of that. Thanks for your answer Kalle.

I know you’ve already solved the issue, but there is a third-party solution:

You could also use the “Points Follow Nulls” tool in the “Create Nulls From Paths” script that is built into AE.

This will create a null for each point of your shape and the points will follow their respective nulls. You can then add a wiggle expression only to the nulls you want to have move in random patterns.

    All the best,

    Marc

Marc’s suggestion is correct. However, you couldn’t do this in 2015 when the thread first began. This feature was introduced relatively recently. 🙂
