A particle system in a 3D Application.
You could probably do the fire and the leaves animation with Trapcode Particular with a looot of tweaking but the results wouldn’t probably be as good.
As for the water, etc; 3D App.

I’m not in front of AE right now, but couldn’t you just click on your first still, then, hold SHIFT while clicking on your 77th still? Then right click on a selected one… New > Proxy etc.

Booh yah grandma!
Yeah, like you were telling, these are really really really basics stuffs you can do with the Fractal Noise effect. Things you do when you just discovered its existence.
I like adding color to it by applying the Ramp effect on a new layer and play with the blending modes; but again these are just basic ways to do it.
Ten thumbs up!

Hm…if I understand well,
Paint over your layer like you were supposed too. After that, go in your layer’s effects, twirl down the little rectangles and copy the “Paint” Effect in a new comp (to a Null, or etc. as long as it’s on an alpha background).
Then, Auto-Trace it and bring it back to your main comp and depending on what you really want, play with the Mask Modes (Add, Substract, etc.)

Double-click on the layer that you want to paint on.
In the toolbox, select the paint brush. In the paint brush’s toolbox, select ” Write On “.

Hey Mister T.
Everytime I have to do a string in my vids, you know what I do?
I simlpy shoot a little string in front of my green screen, then key it! Play with the “Sharp” and “Curves” effects and all there is do is to motion track’ it!
I came up with this trick a few months ago after I spent 4 hours trying using the distortion effect on a thin line.

I don’t have a lot of time right now but…did you checked “Comp Camera” in Invig’s Effect Window?
Another way to do it would be to make your 3D text, animate it, precomp/render it with an Alpha (only text, if you rendered it) then to import it in your comp, place it underneath your actual 3D text and play with the ramp/blur effects. Even the Smear effect from Pete’s Plug-Ins would probably work to do the blur (you’d probably have to keyframe the Smear position center point to your on the bottom of the “reflection” text).
Another way…would be duplicate your 3D text in Invig, put it under your upper (main) text, use a gradient as the layer map on your text…but you wouldn’t be able to add blur to it.
I’m sure there are plenty of other ways to do this but I just can’t think of them.
