Making a fisherstring
Hello there,
Ive been bissy quit a while with this project.
This commercial was shot with a chroma key, bleu screen.
There are 6 different commercials with the same actor acting different funny caracters.
They wanted the background completly animated, behind this person(drawing in illustrator and animated in after effects).My 5th commercial(almost there pffff..) is this dude Kamiel, who is a belgian funny caracter, is fishing at a lake.
Because the chroma was pretty bad, the fishstick(baton) is taking away by the chromafilter.
So i had to animate that aswell.
Now its done and ready to send a smallrender to the client, but im sure he will ask:where is the fishline(string)? if you would see it, you wouldnt care, but they willn, im sure.SO…..
How do i make a fishline(string), that animates with the movement(it has to strecth aswell) ????
Some of the movement with the fisherstick, was done with motion tracker…Using Afx 7.0
Can somebody help me out?

maybe some cc bend/bend it (use some of those nifty sin/cos decay functions from motionscript.com…)

Everytime I have to do a string in my vids, you know what I do?
I simlpy shoot a little string in front of my green screen, then key it! Play with the “Sharp” and “Curves” effects and all there is do is to motion track’ it!
I came up with this trick a few months ago after I spent 4 hours trying using the distortion effect on a thin line.
