The first image below is in response to your double post in which I get the pixelated version on the z axis adjustment, the second is with the camera method, it also created a pixelated image of the layer, I did as you said, adjusted the layer into 3d then created a camera, selected the camera and hit c and c, then tried zooming and changing the position of the camera in which both created a pixelated view.

I am just confused at the whole vector issue, shouldn’t my lines be sharp? I will have some of my layers flying in on the z axis which will create pixelization for a brief period. Before I start animating everything I wanted to see if my layers could retain their vectorized look regardless of zoom depth.Maybe im thinking something way too complicated.

Where do I change the quality of each layer? I have not applied any effects to my layers, I am just getting started, I wish to solve the pixelization first, I will probably post the finished product here next week but like I said I want to get these minor issues out of the way.

Thanks for the link, I went ahead and read the suggestion and it does not seem to make any difference at all. Any other ideas? I highlighted all of my layers and clicked on continually rasterize and zoomed in a lil and no difference was apparent.

Ok, I went ahead and fiddled around with my illustrator file until I was able to seperate each layer from its sub layers, I went up the the menu button on the layer palette at the top right with the layer I wanted to divide selected, then I chose the option “Release to Layers Sequence” and all my layers seperated and were easy to move around. Thanks.

Hey thanks for your help. I eventually figured out what i was doing wrong and it was with combustion. The way i was setting up my graphic was incorrect. The rendering was fine, but when setting up my graphich i would just open combustion, new-particle then choose and animate one, which is incorrect. Correct method is new/composite, then right click the composite layer and click new/solid, right click the solid and click new/particle. Then it renders in a useable manner. Thanks again!

Dave I tried what you mentioned, it didn’t work for me, In combustion, when in the render settings, I use the targa sequence as the format, premultiply with color is checked, and color+alpha is highlighted. The depth is 8 bit. I dont know if you are familiar with Combustion or not. I also tried a tiff sequence and could not get it to work.

I actually created a 10 gig partition and use it as ram cache for AE memory. You can set your ram cach in the edit/preferences, I have 4 gigs of ram anda quad core, also go to your secret menu by holding shift and clicking edit, scroll down to preferences and click it then let go of shift. You will now see a secret tab at the very bottom, you can set the amount of frames that render with an auto purge to keep continual rendering. Mine is set to 0. Other than that you can go to Edit/Purge and manually do it every time you run into the problem.
