    Hi,

    Error messgage:
“Your system is low on virtual memory. To ensure that Windows runs
properly, increase the size of your virtual memory paging file”.

What do you recommend the virtual memory be set to?

    I’m using AE CS4.

    Thanks,

    Mark Dalzell

I actually created a 10 gig partition and use it as ram cache for AE memory. You can set your ram cach in the edit/preferences, I have 4 gigs of ram anda quad core, also go to your secret menu by holding shift and clicking edit, scroll down to preferences and click it then let go of shift. You will now see a secret tab at the very bottom, you can set the amount of frames that render with an auto purge to keep continual rendering. Mine is set to 0. Other than that you can go to Edit/Purge and manually do it every time you run into the problem.

virtual mem should be set on diff hard drive and also diff motherboard cable than Windows OS, a good rule of thumb is min 1.5x ram, max 3x ram, although system managed size is supposed to increase automatically if needed, you might be low on hard drive space. right click system properties-advanced to see where it saves the virtual swap file and manually enter number/change to another drive as needed.

    Hi Juan,
Thanks for the info. I checked out the “scret menu” and here’s how
    it’s set.
Disable Layer Cache is NOT checked.
    Purge every 0 frames…
Ignore Sequence Rendering Errors is NOT checked.
    Are these set correctly?

    Best.

    Mark
