Quiet is not the way to go unless you’re just putting low profile cards like q4000s in it. And I don’t recommend that (waste of $).

As to noise, yes there probably is some. Like many suites my computer systems are in another room. So I don’t really factor it in. I suppose they’re loud. But you’re doing color grading not sound mixing right?

Perhaps you’re confusing the cause-effect relationship here. Maybe it wasn’t resolve crashing that caused the drive to hang, but rather drive hangin that caused resolve to crash.

Also the free Xdcam transfer utility will rewrap in mov, right now resolve 9 supports Xdcam in mxf, but not mp4. However rewrapping into mov or mxf will allow use.

oooh. I think you’ve hit on a function we’ve lost in the new lut generator. So much easier to lut, but now unable to do this “trick” (for lack of a better word).

You must sync audio or use already embedded audio and enable audio on export. Also it doesn’t embedded the audio in AAF, but will carry it in ALE or also in the media files.

Rocket only makes sense if you work with red a lot. Otherwise just put up to three GTX 580s in there and call it a day.

Oh and drop the 5770. Use the q4000 as your GUI card.

  • Afraid not. Every version of resolve install shared binaries beyond just the core app. These will affect the any other version. It is however possible to install and uninstall a version, allowing you to switch back and forth. Obviously that’s not a very good way of working.

No official word that I’ve heard. But it should just be a matter of writing driver support.

  • They haven’t updated software to include usb3 driver yet (unless I missed it) when that gets updated it *might* be supported.
