F65 debayering is handled in GPU in Resolve, not CPU. 🙂

That said more GPUs more performance.I’d recommend a Cubix if you’re doing a lot of f65 work.

GUI card does need x16 lane… however for GPUs If you consider that a Cubix shares a single x16 lane slot over 3-4 cards. A dedicated x8 lane slot may not be much of a performance hit. For what it’s worth.

No.

At least not if you want to charge people for the work you do. You can’t provide grading as a service if you can’t be sure what your image looks like on a calibrated display.

If you run the XML through FCP7 (even with the media offline). Then load your media into the pool manual and import your FCP7 XML, it will hopefully work.

Think your issue is RAM. Resolve 9 is now 64bit and the minimum recommended RAM is 12GB. It definitely benefits from even more than that. Preferably 24GB. Adding RAM in multiples of 12GB is beneficial as it allows the MacPro to function in a triple channel config. So best are 12. 24. 48.

This is covered in the Resolve config guide. Additionally the q4000 is a very weak card.

It seems from the other tests the 580 regularly beats the 680.

Kevin, we’re you running 4gb 680s? We’re they the overclocked version? What about the 580s you’re comparing against? Runnin resolve 9 for all tests right?

The resolve GUI works on a single screen. Only the pop out windows, like scopes, can be moved to second screens.

Power splitter seem to be ok with the 5770, not so sure about 5870. Though I’m inclined to think it would work.
