In your case you can just duplicate the object as many times as you want and reposition manually. Of course, that is much more time consuming than using the cloner.

Yes this is a major flaw and many people have experienced this. My workaround is to put all the audio clips with the same effects onto a single track, export that entire track from in to out with no effects, then import that file and apply the effects to it.
Another workaround is to add the effects not to the clip themselves, but to add them to an entire track on the audio track mixer.

No no no. You can have both running on the same machine and it is easy. Just keep the newest version of the CC desktop app installed. Click the app from the menu bar and on the Apps tab, scroll down till you see “All Apps”. Click it and you should see a dropdown where you can select “previous versions”. From there you can install CC or even CS6

Well there is the warp stabilizer which is completely hit-or-miss. I don’t know how frequent or jerky these pans are, but if they are a few giant ones you can scale up the video a bit, then manually keyframe the position parameter to keep items of interest in the center of frame. If that wields slightly jerky results you can nest that sequence then apply warp stabilizer to the nest

Some specs would help. Are you using CC or CC 2014? Or older? OS? Exporting directly from Premiere or through Media Encoder? et cetera et cetera.
There are a few general tricks to get rid of the dreaded “error compiling movie” window. One is to duplicate the sequence in the project window, and export the duplicate. Another is to create a new blank sequence with your desired specs, copy everything from your old sequence and paste it into the new. Another is to duplicate the project in finder/windows explorer and work from the duplicate. CC and CC 2014 also seem to have issues for some people (including myself) when the project file is on an external drive, so if it is, copy it to your desktop and open+export from there.

CC 2014 is just the newest version, CC was released about a year earlier. I have found it to be riddled with bugs on OSX 10.8.5, so for now I am sticking with CC

Yeah 20000 fps at 1080p HD is will not even be close to $10-20k. As suggested you can rent for a single shoot, or if you insist on owning for < $20k my suggestion would be a camera like the Sony NEX FS700 which will shoot 1080p at 240fps. Use the fastest shutter speed you possibly can then do further slow motion via Twixtor in AE

No need to upres if your final product is going to be a 480p DVD. Edit in 720p, use the 1080 footage to your advantage if you need to do a bit of reframing
