    I am aware that thats how rendering works. This is not the case here. There are no new elements on introduced on the frame that the render crashes/hangs. By itself the frame would render the same as any before it.

    It happened again last night, rendering each frame as normal, then about 6hrs in. It is just stuck on one frame. It doesnt seem like it is a crash as the total render time is still clicking over. This is very annoying and blocking workflow. Can anyone suggest anything? I dont think there is even any error log.

    Nope, not doing any rendering nor do I have redshift open. Simply C4D locking up and then becoming functional again but the viewports are frozen. No way around it but a restart. It happens quite often. Anyone else having this problem?

    Figured it out for anyone that is interested.

    Inside the cloner (Containing the particle objects) in the Object tab, there are basic properties for the incon visibility. Toggle them to off. No more balls.

    this doesnt explain why the viewport is different to the render. Anyone can answer this? This has happened a few times with different geometry

    It was default to height map, i changed it to normal tangent and the other one too. The problem is why the viewport and the render are different. Thats the issue. I want to know why they are not synced up. When I change the offset and length sliders on the material tag it updates in the viewport but has no effect on the render…

    Still cant figure this out. Not sure what you mean by SDS subdivision? nor replacing the voronoi with a cloner?? Anyone actually know how to cache voronoi fractures? It shouldnt be this complicated. Im missing something obvious here
