Actually, I just checked and 701 is the latest for Pro 11. I don’t have 12. In any case, I agree with you that the problem is not Vegas or Vasst TimeWarp but my desktop settings. For now I’m just going to sit on it since otherwise Vegas is working perfectly and I don’t think a reinstall would help. Besides, I can always use my workarounds. I’m still glad I purchased TimeWarp as I would use it sparingly and the workflow would not be hampered very much.

It just annoys me that I can’t figure this out but in time I may find a solution which I will post here. Thanks, John for your time and effort!

I have build 701 (64 bit) same as laptop. I’m thinking about reinstalling Vegas but what makes me hesitate is that I also can’t get it to work with version 10 on the desktop so I’m wondering if it’s something on my desktop that would affect both Vegas programs.

    “Try this:
    1. Select File | Import | Media…
    2. Select just the first image
    3. Check the box Open Sequence and press Open
    4. In the next window, tell Vegas what FPS to use (match the project)
That is how TimeWarp is importing the footage. See how it looks after you do that.”

I get the same result – dark video!

I’ve tried rendering out to AVCHD (1920×1080-60i) and rendered file is dark.

Also, I’ve tried Pro 10 & 11 and get the same dark video on my desktop. Not so if I do it on my laptop – there all is well.

Something on my desktop PC is causing this but I’m at a loss to identify the culprit.

It works on my laptop so it must be something I set up differently on my desktop.

No FX but just to be sure I started a new project and added only one clip, speeded it up x10 (no ghosting)and got the same result.

If I import the individual jpg images directly from the Timewarp folder at .03 second duration (1 frame, it plays perfectly on my timeline. Until I find a solution, that will be my workaround.

  • Glad you found a way to render. This happens to me rendering events that have fast velocity and I disable smart resample for it to work.

Mike is correct, Main Concept “Internet HD 1080p”.

For me upgrading from VP 10 to 11, this was a step backwards. I could never get the VP 11 template to perform quite as well as VP 10. In fact, I still use VP 10 at times. Sometimes the VP 11 is satisfactory for my needs.

Jeff, I think you need to copy to clipboard an event on the timeline first, then paste or paste insert to anywhere on the timeline. I don’t think that copy/paste works for media unless you first place on the timeline.

  • Yes, Giles, I have the same issues with NewBlueFx titler. If I use it, I must render it (m2ts) and bring it back as a rendered file.
