The story that I see unfolding is: a reasonable idea, given some clearly defined parameters that now needs to be generalized to accommodate a consumer/commodity base. I just hope that we don’t wind up with that horse designed by a committee — you know, the one that comes with one hump or two.

There are aspects of the hardware Resolve that are not part of the Mac/software Resolve — and I don’t know if this is the appropriate manual, and until there is a Mac-specific publication, I would not bet the farm on a feature/function being carried through the product over all platforms.

For instance, no telecine control or multiple VTR control in TLC… and it would be interesting to know if field assignment is supported for event boundaries… that sort of thing.

Actually, I did and the optical flow looked fantastic. True 29.97 with no 3:2 pulldown. If that’s what one wanted…

Might have been helpful a couple of hours ago, but I hit those settings, although I chose “Best” for rate conversion.
We’ll see what comes out the other end. Hope its not what usually emerges… (parents will know what I’m talking about)

And the bigger screen means you will be working at 1:1 for work in 1080 if you so choose.
I have never regretted the 17″.

I’m going to try the Compressor route. I don’t have the Frame Conversion board for my SR deck, didn’t seem worth the $15K at the time..

That may be what I will have to do. FCP always forces a render if the frame rate is not identical to the sequence (so much for their “open timeline”, oh, cruel joke) and it of course forces the cadence to 2:2:2:4 so you’re done.
