February 23, 2009 at 1:37 pm in reply to: How to replace a plain background with another…I have done it, but it seems that no matter what you do with the sliders, and the blur , you are left with some residual flickering black artefeact
( By the way the speaker was wearing a black shirt, perhaps a white shirt will blur more inconspicuously)
I can not totally remove the artfects, whick look like bits of black clouds flickering in the background, Is this because the Chroma Keyer in Vegas is not precise enough?

1. Should I get a better pluggin? Where can I get one?2.What does back light mean, you mean you shone a ‘magenta’ light behind the speaker, ………..if so, does the magenta light have to illuminate the silhouette of the speaker in a certain way?
3. Shooting DV ? Yes I am using miniDV… on a HD camera
4. What is 4.1.1.?
5. Jaggle? is that a technical term for ? jagged edges?
6. Do I need to use an alpha channel setting other than…’source alpha’ for the lecture’s video track, ie should I be using… ‘overlay’, or ‘ lighten’….
since I need to be using a second video track ( of forests/ mountains etc) as a back ground……………many thanks

The filming has only just started so I can change the back ground to green/ blue.
The back ground needs to be replaced by video scenes of forests and rivers
Does it matter if the clothing is a different/ same colour as he back ground? I guess white is best ?
I have looked at the Chroma keyer, I am not sure how to use the dropperI gues then one needs to use the aplha channels to superimpose the speaker onto the forest scenes?

September 28, 2005 at 9:40 pm in reply to: chapters are not rendered if I produce an MPG2 despite selecting the correct optionThank you Sir
I amking this for my medical video slide show, as I dont want to use low quality wmv videos
I have actually done this, & I noted some intersting things, I guess only point 1 is where I expect your valued comments
1. That the disc in a DVD player scrolls through the chapters with almost no delay, like a powerpoint presentation, how ever, fom the computer hard drive, [ Centrino with 2gb ram) there is a significant delay which would annoy my audience
2. The Data projector, responds to a DVD movie as though the computer is a DVD player, so that even when the movie is minimised, no other, images from the computer screen will show through the projector, unless I actually CLOSE Windows Media player
All this is annoying, so for my presentation I am using both PC & DVD player
