It does look like one. The Vasst Fasst App Audit Assistant plug-in has the option to “Force All Opacity to x %”. Seems to work even if all opacity was changed to 0 %. Maybe Vegasaur has similar options as well?

    From online Help (F1).
To exit expanded edit mode and return to the previous window layout; perform any of the following actions:
Choose Edit > Select > Exit Expanded Edit Mode.
Press 5 on the numeric keypad.
    Double-click the event edge.
    Press Esc.

Mike, actually it’s been three years.
    Funny how time flies:)

  • [David Cook] ” can I transfer all unfinished movies and files
    over without losing any information?”

A couple of things to remember here. Once you’ve saved the file in 13, you can’t open it in 11 anymore. So make copies of your version 11 .vf files first before playing around with them in 13.
And (from v 13 release notes): “When using the 64-bit version of Movie Studio Platinum, third-party plug-ins will work only if they are 64-bit plug-ins. Please check with the plug-in vendor for available updates. You can share projects between 32- and 64-bit versions of Movie Studio Platinum installations, performing editing as needed in 32-bit Movie Studio Platinum and finishing the project in 64-bit Movie Studio Platinum.

[Jeff David] ” this touch screen thing bothers me. Is it able to be used without the touchscreen? It’s not viable for me if it is mandatory touch screen.”

Touch-enabled for touch PCs as SCS puts it just means that the buttons are “touch-friendly”, i.e. as JR said “big buttons that some people don’t like” in the new v 13 interface.
You can still use it with your mouse and keyboard, as I think most of us still do.
There’s an honest independent write-up and tutorials on Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum here.
Remember that Movie Studio 13 Suite is the same as Platinum with several add-ons.

Seems you’ll probably find MS 13 Suite at about $100 at the moment, if you shop around. Free “peer support” from other users can be found on some of the Vegas forums such as Cow and the SCS Vegas MS forum. These sites have a lot of free tutorials as well.

    edit: seems I was s-l-o-w =)

  • You could use Up/Down Arrow to “Zoom in/out horizontally in small increments (if timeline has focus)” and then use PgUp/PgDn. Snap to Grid checked.
