What do you mean by ‘fully calibrated’? Are you looking at the levels on an external scope or the internal scopes?
Using your color correction tool, you can go in and correct individual shots, or in the case of graphics you may be able to adjust the level using the effects level tool. That’s not the ideal way to do it, but it’s the quickest.

Old Avid’s are great. In fact, I’m still running a Mac Meridian system (granted, it’s on a fairly recent G4…). With an older system, you could probably support it through ebay. Get it up and running, maybe offline projects (it will support DV as long as you feed it an analog signal). Or you could save the money you’ll sink into it (the word ‘money pit’ comes to mind)and buy a NEW Avid, which will support FW DV, and just about anything else you can throw at it. And use the Mac Quadra as a doorstop.

1. Rent a deck. I don’t know where you are, but I’m sure there’s a rental house close enough to FEDEX something to you.
2. Buy more RAM? Nobody ever said this is a cheap buisness to run.

Oh, I forgot – the Mojo is agnostic. But you’ll need to use your dongle that came off the Mojo system.

If you have dissolves on your video, and you’ve dissolved (or used the fade effect, preferably) your titles, and those dissolves happen to be on top of eacy other, the dissolve below won’t play. If you just want to get it to tape, then crash record. If you need the sequence to start at a specific TC Avid will want you to render everything. There is a very good reason for this – unfortunately, it’s early Monday morning and the coffee isn’t working anymore. Perhaps someone more coherent than I can explain. BTW, have you tried expert render?

Based on this and your last post, do you still need TC? There is a mode (which quite frankly I’d forgotten about) called VTR emulation. I’ve never used it, and as I type I believe it’s for playback (it allows you to control the Avid as a deck from, say a switcher). The thing that might help you is you can get a serial to RS422 adapter, and possibly record TC that way. As I think on it a little more, it might not be in XPress (I hate Monday mornings!)
If you just need a signal recorded, click on the little deck icon in the record tool. When it has a ‘prohibited’ sign on it, it means you won’t have a tape associated with this particular file. I believe you have to click through a couple of dialog boxes, but you’ll be able to record your signal. Just select the correct input and you’ll be gooten2go.

Don’t go messin’ with the lesser gods of Avid when it comes to system specs. I’d recommend going with what works with XPress. My sense is Liquid is less picky about hardware.
