Honestly, I didn’t ask what the delivery will be. I will ask. HDCAM could be an option as far as a master. Something more than the hard drive, I’m sure.

I’m going to suggest delivery via hard drive. Thanks for the advice. What would be the best workflow? I’m sure I’ll have to dabble with Color.

The client is in another state. That’s the reason why we’re doing it the hard way. Trust me, I prefer the direct way; from the source.

I’ve never dealt with REDCODE workflow. I take it that I’m tackling very large files. What are the pros and cons? What should I be aware of? Since I’m working from a long distance is there a better way than Dropbox?

Thanks, Shane. I’m trying to convince a friend (an amateur editor) that saving to the computer is a no no. I keep telling him that you can buy an external for next to nothing nowadays. He’ll learn soon enough lol

You could purchase the academic version of FCS for $200. The thing is you can’t upgrade the software. You could go the Bit Torrent way, but use extreme discretion.

30fps is 29.97. All frame rates aren’t exact, i.e. 24fps is really 23.97

I had the same issue with the same model camera except I was going in reverse (importing SD footage from tape). Did you ensure that your camera is set to export HDV?
