Hi Mike… So once I set the second point I can drag it as far as I want or are there limitations?

Mike… OK, I tried everything last night and for the most part got it to work with one quick follow up question. I could get the velocity percentage to zero and drag back to the previous point per your direction. But if I want to sustain that “freeze frame” for a longer time (ie 15 seconds) is there an easy way or do I split the clip once I do the work and copy and paste it a few times so it sustains?

Thank you Mike. I will try with the velocity envelope ( use 8.0 Pro). I have never used it, wish me luck. Most likely you will be hearing back from me!

I am not sure. I am really novice at editing (though I love trying) so I was trying to mask/rotoscope it so it left a glowing GG in the dirt but am having so much darn trouble since I didn’t have a tripod and the frame was moving around so much. I just wanted to be able to see the letters that he was drawing in the dirt and have them stay visible so you could see GG when he was done.

Thank you. That did the trick… Now if I put too much time when it’s all said and done, will it work in reverse to delete a certain amount of time?

Steve..> Thank you again for all the support. My one hold-up (and I got on the phone with Ribbit tech support) is that I am not educated enough to know how to import their clips as alpha channel clips. He said he is sure Sony supports it, but does not know how. Could you please let me know how. I put the rain media into Vegas media manager, then clicked on the properties (before adding to timeline) and tried the various alpha channel properties but it still shows the black background.

Thank you both for your help… Is there a place to get any animated backgrounds for a hack like me to just play with. I am just doing family videos, etc, but would love to play around with these effects. Steve, as you know from many of my very amateur/beginner questions that you have been grateful in answering, I am VERY new to this and I have tried the chroma key, etc, but am really struggling. Is there a place to get some free alpha (clear background) video animations for me to play with in my editing?
