Thanks Jeremy, here are two screen shots. One is with no filer…

the second is with the color fixer vibrant,

which is a little more what I am looking for, something more tropical, making the colors more vibrant, etc. This isn’t exactly what I am looking for but close. Any ideas?

Steve.. First and foremost, thank you for all the time you spend helping people like me, it is truly appreciated.

I have seen some of your responses to other people about pre-rendering sections of the video. How do you do that? Is there something you have written to someone else in the past with directions on how to do this or is as simple as erasing the other parts of the timeline and then rendering what you have left? And you said to render to DV format? Are there any settings I need to keep in mind for that?

Steve, I have noticed it is happening now that I am playing around with green screen and chroma keying for me. I basically have me or my son on a green screen, then a background video (not still) and some music over the top of the both of them.

I let it render again last night and here is the error I got (which usually happens around the 28%-35% mark in most of my videos.

Mike, here is the funny thing. I went to make a shorter version of this video and dropped the wmv into Vegas 8.0 and edited two of the problem clips into a short, 30-second wmv for you and it rendered the poor wmv into one that ran smooth! How is that possible. I went to the original wmv I had the problem with and it’s still choppy as can be, but this one seems to work when I render the already rendered wmv?

Mike, I am rendering to WMV with the only change in settings being setting the video quality to “best” instead of “good”.

Is there another format I should render to that might be better? To be honest I put it to wmv so my son can watch them on the Xbox360 with his friends.

Mike, thanks. The quick tutorial is great. Maybe I just need straighter lines!

One last question. When I play with these effects and the velocity now, all my videos come out choppy when I render them. Only on ones where I use the velocity or I put multiple clips overlapped (like a Matrix effect). Does that effect my render? Should I change any settings that will help make it smoother?

Mike.. Did you have a chance to see the video (or are you still laughing?) and have any advice for me?

    Mike,

I uploaded the video. This is the video in question (and it happens to all the lame attempts I have). PLEASE don’t laugh too hard at my absolutely retarded attempt at a lightsaber (my son is begging and I cam failing to deliver:) ).

Thanks for all the help Mike, that worked perfectly!

One more quickie… I am having trouble when I pan/crop something. For instance, I set up a tripod and shoot him in various positions on the couch and try and do a clone video. But when I piece them together it’s ALWAYS shaky. You can see one side of the video jumping all around. Any thoughts? I’ve done with with feathering on both sides and non feather and neither seem to help a lot.

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help.
