Filter Help
Posted by Jon Smith on August 12, 2009 at 6:29 pmI am editing some video I just took in Hawaii and the video footage doesn’t quite match the beauty of the actual sites. Any ideas on what filter I can use to make the water a little bluer and make things a little more vivid without going overboard? I have the New Blue effects package and the standard Vegas pro 8.0.
Thanks!

August 12, 2009 at 6:36 pmCan you give us a screen shot?
You might want to try levels and play with the gradients if your camera is locked down for the shots. But, if you give us some screen shots, we can help you out better!

On the original image, apply the Levels FX with the Decrease Gamma preset followed by the Color Balance FX with the Blue Midtones preset but click Shadow instead of Midtones. -

August 14, 2009 at 4:47 pmThank you Mike. Is there an effect either built into Vegas or New Blue that is a polorizing effect?

August 14, 2009 at 6:25 pmSorry Jon but no polarizer FX that I’m aware of in either of these.
I have Magic Bullet Looks and it doesn’t have it either. -

Sorry I have been away- I caught some sort of flu and am just now getting over it.
