We need more information to help, like the frame rate of your video, the file type of your audio, and the sampling rate of your audio. Then someone can perhaps offer suggestions.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.

I think what they’re saying is you are asking a Volkswagen Beetle to pull a tractor trailer. You want more than your hardware can deliver, given your footage (4K) and your viewing preference (full resolution).

Did you open the original 2019 project in 2020 and create a new name? Or did you create a new 2020 project and import the 2019 project into it?

You may have a mismatch between the audio type in the original footage and the track type in your sequence (mono, stereo, etc.)

    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)

By the way, when you import using Media Browser, you still navigate to the camera original video clips ans import ONLY those. Media Browser quietly uses Bin, XML files, etc. in the background. You don’t actually try to import those files.

If you are asking for help, we need a lot more information. Computer, OS, RAM, storage, version of Adobe, footage file type/codecs you are using.

    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)

Easy. Unlink the audio and video, and you can manage each separately.

Just double-checking – are you reading it right? Are they specifying 8-bit color (as opposed to 10-bit?)

if they are in fact referencing 8MBit, I would think that would be bitrate, as shown above. If they want max bitrate of 8Mbps, they want to keep file sizes under control.

This is just me personally. But stuff such as this is why I wait for a “dot one” upgrade to appear before I mess about with new versions.

Not that I have had to worry about it recently. Until we get off Win7 on the edit systems, I am staying with 2017.

What you’re experiencing is not unusual. 4K places high data demands, and you have a single drive (even though it is an SSD), presumably on an internal 6GB SATA buss.

For 4K to play natively, you will still likely be looking at a RAID array. I imagine others will chime in with more specifics to help out.
