PP v 14.0 super sluggish
Hi all,
I just upgraded to the v14.0 of Premiere, and my projects are super draggy and very sluggish.
My details:
Mac “trashcan” Pro (Late 2013)
3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5
32GB 1866 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD FirePro D300 2 GBI know I need to upgrade my computer, but waiting on the new Mac Pro to be released. In the meantime, I’m unable to work.
I’m trying to go back to v 13.1.5, which was working well enough, but of course, my new project files are now in 14.0. Is my only choice to export Final Cut XML? I can’t import the sequence from the newer project file.
Also, is anyone else having these issues with v 14.0?

This is just me personally. But stuff such as this is why I wait for a “dot one” upgrade to appear before I mess about with new versions.
Not that I have had to worry about it recently. Until we get off Win7 on the edit systems, I am staying with 2017.
System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF. -
did you start fresh or continue from a previous version? that can cause problems. try importing the sequence into a new project instead. see if your gpu is enabled in premiere. also, test disabling the sound driver in premiere. exporting a XML might fix a corrupt project. did you delete your cache/prefs?
