In addition, be aware Adobe apps do not do any housecleaning for you, even if you later delete the project itself. Clearing the ever-growing collection of media cache files is up to you.

I routinely change the location where Adobe stores my cache files to get them off the OS/apps drive, because it can grow to fill the drive. Even then, some will end up on that drive. I routinely clean these folders out monthly.

If by “one SSD” you mean only one drive in the system, period (meaning you are playing media off the same drive with your OS and apps) you will be fortunate to get much playback at all.

You will, as Andy mentioned, a separate RAID spec’d for the throughput your media requires.

I hadn’t heard they were going to fire up auto update. I believe I will join you in being very concerned. And also hang on to one of the older installs as well.

I don’t want to be a Beta tester, not while doing every-day work.

If you are speeding it up on the timeline, you may want to try the “frame blending” setting to smooth things out.

You could create a Quicktime animation file, with no compression at all. The files, predictably, can be gi-normous.

Alternatively, go with a lossless, lightly compressed format like one of the Avid DNxHD codecs. You may have a slightly less gi-normous file.

In part I am guessing the video chips are less than ideal. It sounds like it might be on-the-motherboard graphics.

Another thought is what type of media files you are operating with vis-a-vis CS6. You may be working with media that has left CS6 behind, so to speak. But that is only a guess, of course.

I’d look first at the lack of an approved video card.

One thing I want to check – the SSD you mention your media is on. Is that your C:\ drive, with your OS and apps? If it is, that is an issue.

If not, I can only make general suggestions. What on the system has changed from when performance was good, and now not-so-good?

One or more of those changes might be the issue.

Your finished produce on YouTube will be comprised of compressed audio and video, so that is the limit of what you can do.

The alternate approach is to compress it yourself to YouTube spec with one of the YouTube presets, so you have full control over the end product, as opposed to YouTube taking that control.
