  • Premiere Previews / Exports choppy when speeding up footage?

    Hi there,

Working on a project and annoyed at how choppy some of the footage is coming out.
    Working with both 23.976 in 4k and 59.94 in 1080p from GH4.
Ingested the footage and interpreted it all as 23.97 in Premiere.
Working and exporting from a 23.976 sequence.

Whenever I speed these clips up in the timeline they become very choppy in preview and export. I can deal with choppy previews but not in the finished export. Speeding the 4k 23.976 footage up to 105% produces some noticeably jumpy footage in both preview and export.

Any ideas on how I can fix this problem?

If you are speeding it up on the timeline, you may want to try the “frame blending” setting to smooth things out.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.
