I don’t go back to V6, I was on Avids back then.

The issue might be the track assignment, also known as track patching. If you want put something on A2, for example, but Premiere Pro keeps forcing it to A1, you might have the track patching set for A1 only. Look at that possibililty.

The left column is the patching (if you’re using the Source monitor for editing). The right column is the timeline path.

Have you made any changes to your monitoring that coincides with you noticing the distortion? Any changes anywhere in the signal chain?

Without much more detail about each machine it is not realistic to effectively troubleshoot your issue. It is interesting that it seems to have happened “across the board.”

So – are there any non-Adobe events/upgrades/changes that match up to the affected machines?

Unless something precludes this, why not simply duplicate the sequence instead of a lot of copy/paste?

In most cases you should be able to work on h.264 encoded MP4 files directly without difficulty. I do all the time.

One little rub; h.264 is a lossy codec. If you are going to be doing multiple renders to get to the final product, you will experience quality loss. So, depending on your workflow, you may sometimes wish to transcode to a more durable, lossless codec.

For example, we’re working on a longform piece right now. My other producers and I are working with h.264 MP4 original footage, along with some AVCIntra100. We’re editing it natively for our segments, but exporting the finished segments to DNxHD, for inclusion in the final edit. The final deliverable will once again be h.264 MP4. But by going to a loss codec in between, we minimize the generation loss done to the finished product.

I cannot say whether or not they would interface in the Essential Graphocs panel (we’re still using CC 2015) but Motion Array (motionarray.com) has a bunch of free motion graphic titles.

Do you have Photoshop? You can create you own lumetri looks in Photoshop, then use them in your footage.

Basically, you grab a still from your timeline, pull it into Photoshop, and start playing to get the look you like.

File size will depend in part on the length of these elements, so you can only push it so far. I will routinely deliver 5-8Mbps at 720P for broadcast, and it is perfectly acceptable. You will need to try it to see if it “fits the bill” for you.

Are you talking about rendering the timeline for effects, etc., or rendering out to a finished deliverable, that is, a separate file?

If the latter, what format/codec are you rendering to?
