When you write “archive”, do you mean “clips”? Are you brand new to using Premiere? Just wanting to figure out where to begin.

Just to be sure, we are differentiating between DVD and Blu-Ray, right? Not using DVD as a generic term for 5″ video discs?

This is completely a wild guess and may not apply to your situation at all.
Are any of your audio files MP3 format? If so, try converting to WAV files and replacing them. See if the issue goes away.
This is a wild guess. We don’t know anything about your Adobe software version, computer hardware, OS, anything. SO folks can only offer so much in response.

What are the specs of the footage that won’t play in Premiere Pro? Will it play in VLC Media Player?
Lastly, you aren’t running any footage from your internal drive, right?

Not familiar with details on AMD processors, but if you are working with h.264 codecs, the processor may or may not have the specific hardware built on-board for coding/decoding that common codec.
More memory is always “more gooder”.

Handbrake is indeed available for Windows machines, and is a great tool to keep in the toolbox, as is Videolan VLC Media Player.
Try playing some of your footage in VLC Media Player, and press CTRL+J while it is playing. This will open up a window with data about your footage that may prove helpful.
If your footage will not play properly in VLC, then you may have a codec issue.

An ongoing, continued increase in speed while maintaining pitch will involve cutting up the music into discreet pieces, and gradually increasing the speed on each piece. The more small pieces, the more gradual the ramp-up in speed will appear to be. Fewer pieces, and each change will become more obvious.
There’s no means I am aware of that would give you an “adjustment wheel”, so to speak, allowing you to very gradually ramp up speed while maintaining pitch. Something may exist, but is likely specialized.
If you are unaccustomed to using Audition for managing speed, the basic techniques are demonstrated in this video.

Yes, I would “break up” the reel at every camera cut, and do those clips individually. Now if it is one long continuous take, that’s another story, of course.
