First thing I ask is whether or not you have the desired timeline track “patched” (highlighted). You can’t direct media to an unpatched track.
Second, particularly with audio, is the track characteristics (mono, stereo, etc.) and the media characteristics may be mis-matched.

When it comes to YouTube, you can do what you wanna do – but YouTube is gonna do what it is gonna do.
Your videos are being encoded again by YouTube when you upload. Best bet is to use a YouTube preset closest to what you want, or you may have to consider paid subs on Vimeo or elsewhere.
YouTube does have its limitations.

What version was the project originally made/saved in? What version did the app indicate you needed when you went back to it? What was the exact message you received? Something is missing here.

Not on the Premiere Pro timeline, no. Your solution here is After Effects. Easy to do there.

The first thing I would try is deleting all media cache files. If I could get the project to launch again, I would save a backup copy under a different file name immediately.

You are welcome. With only two additional drives, your RAID options are admittedly limited.
With your indication that it is primarily personal video work without intensive effects or color correction, I would use the SSD for OS and apps, one of the other two for projects and footage, and the third drive for cache. I think over time you will be happiest (and computer fastest and most stable) with that.

If your footage is interlaced, the first thing I would check is sequence settings. NTSC analog SD should be lower field first for the interlace, and ATSC 1080i HD should be upper field first.

In your current setup, even though the drive is partitioned, your applications and media are still on the same physical drive. AVOID THAT.
It is acceptable to have you media and cache files on the same drive, but having them on separate drives is better. Your proposed SSD for OS and apps is small, so I would avoid cache files on that drive.
I would certainly use the SSD for OS and apps only. You could take your two drives and RAID them for redundancy or performance. No real advantage to rendering final work to another drive unless that is an organizational preference.
