CS4 is not supported in WinXP 64-bit. The only 64-bit PC OS officially supported by Adobe is Vista 64. Whoever built your systems should have read the system requirements posted by Adobe.

The only other way to work this out quicker than my last post is if your multicam edit actually runs in realtime.
Add the HD multicam build above the one that has the SD one, use the SD edit and jump to the cuts in it and have the timeline zoomed in so you can see the camera angle, have the multicam window open and have it looking at the track you have the HD multicam nest and select the cam angle as you jumpt to the cuts of the original.
I think this is a great learning experience that HD projects don’t lend themselves to SD Editing and a fun time workin in Multicam projects with an offline SD/DV to then attempt to go up to HD/HDV.

I don’t think the suggestions for this problem are completely addressing the fact that without replacing each cut made with the mutlicam footage this project can’t be fixed in PPro.
open the PPro in AE where you get to see the cuts in the project. Then resize the comps (which can be done at any stage of the edit), reresenting the seq’s of the multicam, then save it out as a PPro project. Reopen it in PPro.
hopefully this will make all the seq’s used in the HD framesize you need, including the mutlicam stuff.
I have not tested this, buthopefully the Multi-cam concept kinda holds cuts timing, but it may not as After Effects doesn’t have a multicam function.
There is a lacking in the way multi-cam editing is not collapsable in PPro workflow.
Sorry my friend. I think the only true solution to your sitution is to make a duplicate of the multicam seq with a HD timeline – then one cut at a time replace with the replace>match frame function with hitting M key to match with SD multicam cut and find the timecode of that seq and know the camera angle then assign the replaced HD Multicam build the correct camera angle.

August 23, 2009 at 12:02 pm in reply to: Are Mac PremierPro Projects Compatible with PC PremierePro CS4?Hi Jiggy,
you have actually captured this material in a Final Cut Pro HDV format only supplied by Apple with FCP so I am sorry to say but none of the material in the apple codec will open on a PC – let alone be editable.
If you had used Premiere Pro HDV native capture in MPEG-2 then you could use that material over the two platforms of PPro.
You will need to convert the material into something the PC can use, most likely format to keep quality would be something in the form of Uncompressed or Animation set to 90-100%. But this will make the file sizes massive.
Personally i would recapture the material with PPro using the HDV capture supplied with PPro.
I am thinking you captured this with FCP.

1. have you got Quicktime installed. (7.4.5 or higher)
2. have you tried to export just a sound file?
3. what kind of avi export are you setting
4. if you bring that file back into PPro do you see the waveform once it conforms it?
5. have you got the latest updates for both Pr (4.1) and AME (4.1)?– JB

You could do it several ways.
I think this way would be one of the quickest.1. Lock the video track the clip you want to L cut
2. use N key to select rolling edit tool
3. move the audio cuts to desired spot
4. unlock the video track
5. use V key to go back to Selection Tool (arrow)– JB

August 19, 2009 at 11:30 pm in reply to: ‘a serious error has occured that has caused premiere to shut down’Have you created a custom timeline with the dimensions you need to edit in?
New Sequence, General Tab, Set to Desktop and customize the fps, frame dimensions, PAR, Audio etc. Name the seq and OK.
CS3 you need to set this at New Project stage, CS4 can do this at any point in the Project’s life.
That might help on export.

I only do my AE work once I’ve finished my edit. I make a duplicate timeline of my edit and add _wAE on the end of the seq name. I use this seq timeline to do my AE replacing so the original maintains the original clips and I can go backwards if I really need to.
With the _AE seq:
Select the clip/s you want (and would paste into AE),
Go to File>Adobe Dynamic Link>Replace with AE comp.It opens AE for you, asks you save the AE project name and puts the edited material into a comp/or adds it immediately to an AE project you already have open.
The clip/s that were in PPro have now been replaced with the AE Comp.
If you have cross fades involved I’d use them on another layer so the fade goes over the top of the clip/s it crosses. That way the in/out points are also including the handles of the fades that will come over to AE. (Clips side by side don’t replace with transition handles against shots not part of the AE replacement).
It’s a shot at a time workflow. Pretty much exactly what you would do with copy and paste but faster and more automated.

Just tested it and you’re right there is a bug there.
work around. Add a single opacity keyframe and the copy paste will bring in the cross fade points too.
I use the Replace with After Effects comp and that seems to work with cross dissolve, haven’t used the CS3 workflow since getting CS4 – I’ll file a bug report.

Have you installed Quicktime 7.0.0 or higher?
You need this to have proper QT export function.
Have you updated to 3.2?
Could be a bad install = reinstall.
