Holding alt while you click and drag the replacing clip ontop of the time clip also replaces it with all the fades, effects, etc.

PPro can use many different audio formats like wav, aiff, mp3. If you got the file from iTunes you have to convert it. If you have bought the track that doesn’t mean you have legal rights to use it.
A way to convert say an mp4 audio file is to open it in QT pro and export as another format, like above.
Or you could use AE which accepts heaps of formats and convert it there.
Copyright law for music is very complicated, but unless you have written agreements from the recording studio, the song writer the singer and all those who own it – you legally don’t have permission to use it.

Alright, not sure why it’s coming out blurry.
There is a setting on PPro for quality. Right click the montior and select the High Quality. If that was set to Auto or Low it will look soft, but export properly. (Hope that this is the problem…)
Try this work around. Please I hope you have After Effects.
In Premiere Pro:
1. Goto File>Dynamic Link> New
2. Copy the file that needs correcting.
3. Flip to AE as it would have opened itself.
4. Paste the clip in the project panel.
5. Colour correct it there.
6. Go back to PPro
7. select the clip in the timeline.
8. right click to replace. (bin = the selected clip in the project panel) it will replace with the AEp if that is still selected.

You could split the audio into mono files by selecting the clip, goto clip>audio options> …
But that makes more mess than it’s worth.

Alternatively you could export the avi file then let encoredvd 2 transcode it.

Avid & FCP work with dedicated mono tracks that 2 mono L+R = stereo.
PPro uses whatever the source is. If its stereo you will get a stereo track as one track which can be panned etc inside the one source track. If it’s mono/5.1 thats the track you will work with when you overlay/insert.
If you want to dedicate a L and R channel I do it with two stereo audio tracks.Process:
1. Target the 1st track then overlay.
2. Move CTI to begining,
3. target 2nd track,
4. copy the audio clip in track 1,
5. paste it – the paste will go where you target (track 2) and start at the CTI/playhead.
6. Rename the tracks so I know it’s actual dedication L or R (IVer or IVee).
7. Using the Audio Mixer I hard L or R pan the respective tracks (the names show up in the mixer).
“pan and other effects (bass, etc) you might have in the mixer apply to the whole track”.
Then I’m ready to go.Hope that helps – its a different way to approach it, but once you get used to it it’s very efficient for keeping track of which clip does what.

If this really works we should make some kind of post for it! Haven’t tried it yet, but just drop it into the main PProCS3 directory? not another folder inside that?

If you’re talking about a composition using footage of a page turning and the video moves like it is part of the page turning, distorting with the footage you’re talking about something better done in AfterFX or a 3D app like Maya, 3dsMAX, Lightwave. Not something you would really bother with in Premiere Pro.
There is a page turn wipe/transition effect, but if you’ve found that and its not what you’re after you’ll need an FX compositor.

There does seem to be an issue with CS3 and its workspace. Hope they fix it soon it’s really annoying.
Try reset workspace. Should clean everything up based on the workspace you last told it to work with.
1. Make your workspace.
2. Save it.
3. Set it.
4. Reset.
Should work properly from then on.
