Has anyone noticed that images in magic bullet looks are now mirrored? (but luckily only in the preview)

  • No telly, probably watch an hour a month!!! Actually when I do I get ideas for programmes…… or feel smug about how much crap is on!! I bet most TV professionals don’t watch much….commissioning editors tell us to watch more so we have a better idea of what they want but I find that depressing 🙁

  • I cut a 25′ drama doc last Christmas….didn’t do everything on your list…. I found it wonderful for the editing process… Got footage from RED… imported in FCP7…. edit in X…. grade in X… getting an OMF was a nightmare… used x27 to get into FCP7 and export OMF but lots of issues…. hopefully x2pro will sort this… mastered to digibeta in FCP7…… basically used FCP7 to fill the gaps but the editing process on x was a dream, never cut a programme so fast… grading was good too… used broadcast safe filter in fcp7 for final output….

I know how you feel, my edit went so well but getting an OMF out was such a nightmare… if they don’t have OMF out in the next major release I’ll have to switch and I love lots of things in FCP X….
Regarding the missing tracks, if you get the correct video in the FCP 7 timeline will matchframe get you your audio back? I had to do some of that.

Yes I did this for the mixer, giving him seperate stems for all the elements.. (obviously I couldn’t give him handles this way)… the problem with the FPS persisted though… luckily even though the audio drifted out of sync in the fcp7 timeline I had faith and when it was brought into protools all was in sync…. just an fcp7 limitation..

Good luck, you should be ok with x27 as long as you watch out for slow motion and unusual audio/video formats ( problems for me with mp3 music (came in ok but clicks on export from fcp 7) and mp4 gopro video/audio), also some seperate non sync sound gave time base problems ( 30 fps in 25 fps timeline)… messing around added an extra day to my project, a straight omf export would be so nice 🙂

I’ve still got the timeline bug and I found my undo stopped working so I lost some work 🙁 Only happened to me once before so I hope it’s a co-incidence and not that it’s got worse! You’d think the autosave bug would be an absolute priority for an update 🙁
