Just an update on the 1/2 hour doc. progress…. I find X to be stunningly fast for editing, we have a pretty good first assembly of the programme within 3 days editing… the director says she’d never work with any other editing package and can’t understand the negative statements she’s heard… I’m also cutting another project with another director who is equally won over…
I don’t want to be too cocky as I’ve yet to finish them including OMF export, downscaling and layoff to digibeta (which I plan to do with FCP 7)….but so far so good 🙂
Any ideas of a good downconversion path from 2k to SD Pal for digibeta (10 bit uncompressed).. I plan to use compressor.. (in the past I would output from my MXO box with hardware downscaling but it doesn’t handle 2k)..

Well to answer my own question… I changed project properties from 25i to 25p and that sorted it… does this mean that titles don’t work with interlaced footage??

Thanks for the notes tip.. but it seems when I split a clip into favourites (which is how I log) and put notes on the favourites they don’t show up in timeline 🙁

I’ve been checking undo every 10 mins or so.. I think of it as my save!! lost some work last week due to this bug which I assumed would be fixed in 10.01 🙁 did notice that my drive was very full which hopefully was a contributing factor..thanks Timothy for the screen shots…
Seems people are very nice to you when you’re doing something crazy 🙂

Started on X today… not bad, very fast for logging by using favourites and notes… just wish the disclosure triangles didn’t need to be re-opened everytime I switch bin (or keyword collection or whatever it’s called)… also would like to be able to read notes when the clip is in the timeline but don’t think I can… stable enough so far.. touch wood!!

Kicks off tomorrow morning and I’m keen to use X as I love it’s media management…. I’m happy to toss it around between 7 and X as long as it works! I’ll check out X27… it’s a drama doc. shot on red 4k, I’ve already converted to 2k Pro res in FCP…I’ve also experimented with XML conversion with DaVinci… don’t like messing around with broadcast projects but I’m very keen to use X, it’s so much quicker!!
Thanks for all the advice everyone… maybe I’ll be the guinea pig 🙂

From what I can see Alban has it worked out… it seems to happen on one zoom setting and is repeatable and consistent.. It’s the playhead not the skimmer…project, settings etc. don’t seem to affect it…. I’ll try trashing my preferences…
    Thanks for the help.
