I had to re-map my keyboard once to get those and other similar features to work. I was able to get the + and – to zoom in and out on any viewer or timeline, plus the \ to show the whole sequence. So, you might try a new keyboard (save to a new preset name).

Not having done this, but what comes to my mind:
1. I would suggest you try speeding it up in AE.
2. Have you tried unlinking the audio and rendering the video and audio separately? I doubt that would work, but it’s an easy test.
3. Last, I’m no audio guru, but wondering at that speed if you have to deal with the video in PP or AE and the audio in Audition and bring them back together after the processing is done.You must have a heckuva long clip to go to those speeds!

Adobe needs more competition, perhaps. We all seemed better off when Discreet, Adobe, Apple, Sony, and AVID all competed for our loyalty, lead frogging one another with features and capabilities. Or, maybe I simply remember it all through rose glasses 😉

I don’t know, but I’m wondering if you tried changing your window layout to some preset and then resize to both screens, and then manually move the windows how you like them, saving that as a new preset.
I moved to a single large screen so I can’t replicate your issue, but fully appreciate it must be irritating. The fact that other Adobe apps work and that PP used to, suggests to me this is a preset issue that maybe got bumped/changed somehow. I wish Adobe could creatively solve the convoluted way they address window customization, but that’s for another day.

There might be an easier way – brainstorming here with you. Could you “remove” (move) the proxy media somewhere with PP closed. Then open up the project and it will ask you to re-link. Point the first clip to the folder with the high res media and, presuming the file names match, it should locate most or all of them in one foul swoop. If not, the relink window has a powerful search feature that I have found works really well. I usually have to manually relink some clips, but a handful is better than all.
If that won’t work, I’ll keep pondering this.

Not sure if this is the same thing, but I’m moving audio clips up and down to different tracks. For two of my sequences in a project, this worked fine. Now, some clips I move then show the audio (unlinked) as out of sync by very small (though inconsistent) sub levels (see image below).
If I undo, they remain out of sync. I don’t understand why this is happening nor how to fix it. I haven’t found much rhyme or reason to it, although I have had slightly better luck moving only one clip at a time (up or down tracks) rather than whipping a group of them together and moving them all. Also, in moving them, I’m using a keystroke so it’s not “slight of hand” error. I’m sure it’s user error but I’m not a pro audio editor by any means.

Thank you, Peter! That is extremely helpful. At one point I think I had 8 tabs with various links open to get through all this. The only two remaining questions I have then, are:
1. Why would you ever want to have the software only preference selected and not one of the other GPU options selected?
2. Why is this preference setting a project preference and not a universal Preference setting? I only ask because I have a feeling I’m missing the benefit to that obviously intentional decision by Adobe to place it where it is.
