Yes – this would certainly be one use of this feature. In terms of proxies – CatDV uses path mapping rules to look up the proxies – so as long as the folder structure is preserved then you can usually fix the proxy lookup just by changing a single path mapping (or if you’re using CatDV Server a Media Store path).

This usually means the machine has run out of disk space on the volume where the database is, or sometimes on the volume where MySQL is putting its temporary files.

Normally the Premiere Panel will show the same panels as the web client would. These are configured through the Panels section of the web admin UI. If you’ve got a reasonably new version of CatDV Server then you can specify a panel set specifically for the Premiere Panel by choosing Premiere Panel from the ‘client’ section of the visibility rules.

There is definitely a MySQL 5.7 install for 10.9, so it should be possible to get it working. You might need to manually set up a LaunchDaemon entry as described here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/26476391/how-to-auto-load-mysql-on-startup-on-osx-yosemite, and its possible the status in the control panel won’t be right, but it should be possible to get it to work.

Did you install the right MySQL version for your Mac OS version? Apple have changed the way daemons (background services like MySQL) get launched and there are definitely issues with certain versions of MySQL on certain versions of Mac OS. I’d probably update to the latest Mac OS and the latest MySQL and see if that fixes it.

It sounds like MySQL just isn’t running? If you go to the MySQL control panel (in System Preferences) does it show MySQL as running?

If it’s not that is then I would just contact support by emailing support@squarebox.com.

Yes. In the Media menu select “Update Media Location” and navigate to the new location of the file. If you’ve moved many files, you can multi-select clips and it will try to apply the same ‘move’ to all the files it can. You can also set up a path mapping rule from old to new, but generally better to update the records to point to the right place.

Calibrated (https://www.calibratedsoftware.com) sell the appropriate MXF codecs, but you also need the MXF opton in CatDV, which is cost option I’m afraid, so enable the MXF parsing in CatDV.

When you create a new SmartFolder there is a drop down list that lets you specify if it should be visible to All Users or just a specific user. Are you setting it to All Users?

Ah – ok. It was just that you said the error was “Can´t create database “chatted” – but I guess that was auto-correct. Maybe the catdv database already exists? If you delete it and then re-run the script that should work. Otherwise I guess there could be some permissions issue, or possibly the disk is full. We’d need to see the full error log to work that out.

Generally speaking the latest desktop client is supported with the latest and the one previous major versions of the server(so currently 7.0 and 6.10). However, that is different from saying it won’t work on older versions of the server. You can always download a trial of the latest version and see how you get on.
