Have you tried to drag the files in manually? Open the file location and drag and drop it into your project. Also, as rediculous as it sounds, a restart can be a simple fix! Let us k ow if we can help further.

Guess I could five it a shot. It’s really annoying though, it’ll take double the time. Bosses don’t like double the time, that’s why we buy programs like this.

That’s a good idea, thanks, Mr. Roberts.

    Dave,
thanks for the response. No, I thought so too. So I even used the old fashioned way of importing… FILE> Import> file… same error message. I’m clueless.

I tried it in my AE 7 and it imports fine. But my other project is set up in CS3 which, unfortunately, you can’t import CS3 projects into AE7.

    Any other thoughts?

I’m not 100% clear on your problem but if it’s what I’m thinking it is it might work to adjust your cameras MM settings. Say for instance if it’s set to 35mm you might increase it up to the next mm setting. If that doesn’t work then set it back to what you had it and you might have to move the layers closer to the camera. to give them a “fake” distance-to-camera-ratio you can animate their scale as they get closer to the camera. It may be a pain in the butt, but then again 3D in After Effects always has it’s unknowns. If this doesn’t work I’m not sure what the issue is.

You need to right click each layer in the Photoshop Doc in After Effects then click on Replace Footage; click on File; then locate your document click ok. It “should” reconnect for you. If not then you might have renamed the file or something. Let me know if that works for you. If all else fails then just reimport the document and replace the layers manually.

First off what type of computer are you using? Mac or PC. The New Intel Mac’s have had a few problems running some Adobe software.
