I just checked and the iTunes stores still shows $49.99 for me. Maybe there is a currency conversion happening depending on your location as Robin said. It’s the deal of the century at anything less than $100 if you consider the power that Motion brings.

That’s all you can do since QuickTime is not “officially” supported on Windows after Windows 7. (i.e., Apple dropped support back when Windows 8 was announced).

Yea, it’s confusing… Vegas started out as an audio editor and then added video capabilities so they needed a word that didn’t mean audio or video and they chose “Event”. So those “things” on the timeline are all called Events. Audio Events, Video Events, both referred to generically as Track Events (which can be Audio or Video). Like I said… confusing when other NLE’s all call them Clips!
So… Events are just Clips by a different name.

Sounds like your external hard drive is formatted for FAT32 which, as Wayne points out, has a 4GB file size limit. If so, you need to convert it to NTFS for rendering larger files.

The only parameter that affects file size is bitrate. Obviously Motion 5 is using a much higher bitrate than Motion 4 did which is why the file is so much bigger (i.e., 2/Mbps in Motion 4 compared to 24/Mbps in Motion 5). If you want to control the file size, use Send to Compressor… so that you can control the bitrate yourself.

Yea, it’s extremely unfortunate that after a short period of time you can no longer edit your posts because I realized after that it doesn’t work but now that post is out there with bad information. 🙁

Yea, that’s what it looks like to me too. Right-click the clip and select Collapse Audio/Video Components and it should go back to normal. Note the keyboard shortcut for this is Control+S so simply pressing ^S by accident could cause this to occur without you knowing what has happened.
BTW, Questions like this belong on the Apple FCPX Techniques Forum.
It would be nice if the forum names made some logical sense. 😉

It’s hard to say. There was a time when the ProRes decoder was a separate download and now it’s included so if you have that separate decoder installed, it could be causing the problem but you would think that the new installer would look for it and remove it? The whole “uninstall QuickTime” nonsense as done a lot of damage to people who blindly followed it. Sorry to hear you got caught up in it.

Under Positon: change Largeur to 1920 and Hauteur to 1080, and you will get a perfect HD 1920×1080 crop/zoom. This is how far you can zoom in without loosing any quality.

I have QuickTime 7.7.9 for Windows working fine with ProRes 422 files in Vegas Pro 13. So the latest QuickTime should work.
