Do you hear other audio and just not the MP3’s? or is there no audio at all?

Not in Vegas alone. You would need a plug-in like Boris Graffiti to do that with Vegas. You could also use a stand-alone 3D title program like Blufftitler or Ulead Cool 3D.

The problem is that most HD TV’s are LCD or some derivation. You should really color correct HD on an LCD because that’s what it will most likely be displayed on. This is why Vegas added the preview on Windows Secondary Display option.
I would try using the Sony PVM-14M4U and then checking it on your HD TV so see how close you got. This will give you a definitive answer for your setup.

I don’t use 8.1 which is probably why I’m not seeing these problems. I would stick with 8.0c.

Yes it can but when you do you will find that most of the dark video is also very grainy due to lack of light so you will be increasing this noise/grain. I would use Levels to bring the blacks & whites more in line and then use Color Curves and make an ‘S’ curve to keep the balance between dark and light. Finally you might want to get a noise reduction plug-in to deal with the extra noise that will be brought out.

Yes just change the frame rate in your project. You can also turn off Resample on the event so that Vegas doesn’t try and interpolate the footage.
What frame rates are we talking about here? What’s the frame rate of your image sequence and what’s the frame rate of your project?

MP3 files should be fine regardless of what format you are rendering to. As an experiment, try rendering just the MP3 file to WAV and then use the WAV file in your project and see if that works. I’ve used lots of MP3 files in my projects and have never had any problem rendering.

You can’t. You are using Movie Studio which doesn’t support nested projects.
Is it a particular MPG file? Could it be corrupt? Are you dragging them from the camcorders hard drive or are you importing them with File | Import | Hard Drive Recording Unit (or something like that)? Ihe audio on that camera looks like it’s AC3 which can be a problem if not imported correctly.
Movie Studio shouldn’t be having problems with SD MPG files but you could always render the files to DV AVI and edit them that way. I have never heard of problems with DV footage but MPG is problematic at times.

Your Dynamic RAM Preview should be kept at less that 1GB. This may be your problem. The memory allocated in the Dynamic RAM Preview setting is only used for manually executing a RAM preview. Otherwise it steals needed memory from Vegas. I keep mine below 512MB and have no problems with memory on Vegas Pro 8.1, Vista 64 w/8GB of physical memory on my PC.
