Did you have what Genarts falsely calls a “Permanent” License?
It’s only permanent until they decide to stop supporting a particular platform OS.
That is NOT permanent – that is temporary.
When your machine breaks and you have to buy a new computer, you are out of luck because rarely can you buy a machine with an OS several versions back.
And Sapphire is a plug in that relies on other software – so usually within a few years you are going to be unable to fix the host with upgrade bug fixes because they require a more current OS.

    NOT PERMANENT

February 20, 2013 at 4:54 pm in reply to: Brief clips from a recent studio shoot with the BMCC

For run and gun shooting and the question of exposure, the BMCC is actually very easy and can be thought of almost as being able to set exposure automatically I have found.

Shooting in raw you simply hit the Iris button above and left of the monitor screen. This iris button will set an aperture that is just below highlight clipping for the shot.

Then in Resolve you have all kinds of room to push the shot around.

I have found that if you are shooting in raw with the BMCC, you protect the highlights – set your zebras at 100% and set an aperture to just get the zebras to start showing or back off slightly. You will have tons of latitude to make the shot whatever you need it to be.

But for run and gun, the iris button, raw, and no worries about white balance are all your friend for some awesome shots in post.

Focus is important – you almost need an EVF to be sure you nail it.
Rolling shutter on very fast movement can be an issue. Treat it like 24 fps film shooting and the laws of panning/tilt speed.

Did this issue ever get resolved?

With all the NLE’s have a great Voiceover options going direct to the timeline as well as apps like Audition, it surely seems that Multibridge aught to be able to record audio only with a video carrier.

Yep – not too happy with Digital Juice these days.

This problem has been going on for a long long time without a resolution.

When I call tech support (India) they give me the same baloney solution tried repeatedly that they should know does not work.

I will buy no more DJ products. They are just collecting dust on 2 shelves.

Turned into a crummy troubled company.

    The fix is located here.

Restores the CUDA acceleration in Premiere with Apple’s 10.6.8 and the latest nVidia driver for the Quadro 4000 for the Mac.

That was quick work – THANK YOU TO ALL for the effort.

Nope – 3.83d Juicer does not work either. Same old problems.

This problem has been going on for a couple of years and no resolution by Digital Juice.

If you are on the Mac and Snow Leopard, I would definitely not recommend purchasing Digital Juice products – their system has not worked for many folks.

There is a new build of the Juicer 3.83_d posted on the Digital Juice website. Downloading it now to see if something has been fixed.

Since this post have found lots of folks with the same non-functioning Snow Leopard and the Juicer … hoping this new version fixes the mess – have not been able to use by Digital Juice library since upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard.

Would appreciate knowing which version of the Juicer you are using that is partially working for you with Snow Leopard.

We have repeatedly tried installing 3.83c for Snow Leopard and it’s still a no go as many others have found. Maybe a 32bit version for the Mac will work?

May 31, 2011 at 9:26 pm in reply to: Mac Conversion for CS5 Nightmare

I would not be a good candidate for info in this conversion.

Our “former” IT guy really messed this trial conversion up from the start.

    1. He supplied us with the wrong ram memory – gave us 667Mhz ram when the early 2008 Mac 3,1 required 800Mhz memory

    2. He then gave us the wrong Riser board Dimm configuration when we dropped down to 24gig of ram.

I learned this all myself and then have started from scratch with a clean install. This project got delayed by paying work so this Mac just sat for bit and I am now back on it. In between when the system was semi-stable, Premiere was working nicely – ran all mixed formats including h.264 and multiple Pic-in-pictures and various filters and transitions – all in real-time at full res playback setting. But then the system would sometimes boot up unstable and cause headaches without any Adobe software running!

So I bit the bullet and have started with another Clean INstall of Snow Leopard from scratch as well as all apps!!! I will let you know how that goes when finished. But starting with the right memory and correct configuration would be the obvious.
