November 14, 2009 at 5:37 pm in reply to: Flicker and stutter in premiere Pro CS3 windows HELP!Sorry I don’t for a MAC. But a funny thing I noticed this morning. I got an e-mail from a friend about an embed fonts malware security update from Microsoft. When I went to the knowledge base to read some articles I noticed that some of the latest security updates effects certain ATI video cards. Now I can see how all this can happen to me without doing anything. It’s Microsoft’s updates killing me. It’ like taking a drug to fix one problem then having to deal with the side effects.
Here is the article.

November 13, 2009 at 9:25 pm in reply to: Flicker and stutter in premiere Pro CS3 windows HELP!I just wanted to let everyone know that I found the source of the problem but still need to correct it. It’s what I figured…Direct Draw and 3D Acceleration. When I went into the troubleshoot tab of the monitor settings I took the slider bar that was set at Full acceleration and went back one notch and re booted until I got to the middle tab. Then the flicker/stutter and redraw issues when away. So what this is telling me is now I’m having Windows do the hardware acceleration instead of the video card. Now this is the second card I put in new so both cards gave me the same response. Now I need to find out why this is happening, and how did this start to begin with? I looked at my Direct X files and noticed I’m running Direct X 9.0c. Is this the most updated Direct X for Windows XP? I noticed that we are up to Direct X 11 now. Is that just for Windows 7? Should I be updating to Direct X 11? Maybe that is my problem? I don’t know. Any more suggestions? At least I found the source of this problem. To bad I wasted money on a new monitor and video card.

October 21, 2009 at 6:31 pm in reply to: error setting up the transcoder… ntdll.dll ENCORE CS3Thanks Jeff for responding to my post and your help. I did find out what happened to this problem. It was Adobe ENCORE that was at fault. Somehow it hiccuped on the 7th lesson DVD and I figured it out by deleting the Motion Menu video and re saving the file. Then I brought the same video back in and was able to render the Motion menu this time. WHY this happened I have no idea. Let’s just say I’m NOT an Adobe Lover…this happens way too much for me. Premiere Pro also.

October 21, 2009 at 1:08 pm in reply to: error setting up the transcoder… ntdll.dll ENCORE CS3Sorry to say those suggestions didn’t work. But I did try another idea and got this strange result. I decided to remake the menu by changing the text, then NOT rendering the motion menu so it would be static. As I was building the DVD it stopped about 25% in and crashed. This is what dll it told me was the problem. “mediafountain.dll”. Never heard of this dll nor could I find a google search on it.
Can someone in this forum tell me what this dll is?
mediafountain.dll

October 21, 2009 at 12:07 am in reply to: error setting up the transcoder… ntdll.dll ENCORE CS3Thanks jeff for your reply….I’ll try this…and check my drivers. I did a search on the dll in question and checked the date when that dll was modified to see if that was the case with finding other files in realtion to it. No luck that wasn’t it. Funny thing is if I open the previous 6 DVD projects I can render and burn DVD from them. It’s when I change the text in the menu and then it forces me to re render the motion menu…that’s when I run into trouble now. Doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m pulling my hair out because I can’t get paid if I can’t finish the job. Been having on going issues with ENCORE and Premiere Pro…just frustrates me so much that these errors occur constantly with these programs.
Thanks Jeff

Thanks for your reply…Yes I have Quicktime 7.6.2 installed. That”s one of the first things I looked into since it was a major cause of previous problems. Still in this day and age…crashes like this should not be happening. Adobe gets a ton of money for their products and they crash more often than some free programs I use. At least give me an error with an explanation so I can fix it….and not guess to what is wrong. The fact that problems like this has been happening for years and been mentioned in this forum and still not fixed or addressed with a concrete explanation make me wonder.

Hey I feel for you…I get this exact same error when doing the same thing. Also when trying to trim a clip buy scrubbing left to right or right to left. What gives with this? Dam frustrating all these serious errors with no explanation as to whats causing this. Really getting frustrated with Premiere Pro. I have the same specs as you.

That’s cool Todd. Do you have any tutorials on it? Or somewhere I can learn and get instructions on how to do my own?
